Fall Recital
Since 2016, CFMTA hosts a fall recital for the students.
Students love the opportunity to don their Halloween costumes, and all enjoy sharing their music!

Play-a-Thon
Since 2017, CFMTA has held an annual Play-A-Thon to raise money for Hospice of Wilmington in early December. Teachers, students, their families, and the residents of the host venue enjoy the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit with seasonal music while raising money for a worthy cause! Past venues include Carolina Bay and Ogden Baptist Church in Wilmington.

Dr. Kerry Carlin, from East Carolina University, presented a pedagogy workshop to CFMTA members and guests on November 11, 2017 in UNCW’s Cultural Arts Building. Dr. Carlin was President of the North Carolina Music Teachers Association (NCMTA) from 2015 to 2017.
